Marilyn Doris Mersereau Saxer

Marilyn Doris Saxer (Mersereau) of Springboro, OH, passed away July 15. Born February 17, 1930, in Toledo, OH, to Mildred (White) and Marion Mersereau, Marilyn grew up on Gramercy Ave., attended DeVilbiss High School and graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s in biology in 1952. Marilyn married Richard Karl Saxer, USAF, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) July 19, 1952, in Toledo, OH, at Pilgrim Church and immediately began an Air Force officer’s wife’s life of love and laughter and children that lasted nearly 65 years until Dick’s passing on October 18, 2016. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Dick, her brothers, Robert and Phillip Mersereau, and sisters, Jean Mersereau and Gloria Randle (Mersereau).

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughter Janie (Steve) Mott and grandchildren Kevin, Casey and Carey; son Robert (Jackie) and granddaughter Morgan; daughter Kris (Craig) and grandson Brett and granddaughter Katy (Rob) and great-grandson Zachary and great-granddaughter Evelyn; and daughter Ann (Steve) and granddaughters Erin and Ryan and grandson Jack.

Private family services will be held in Toledo, OH, at the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, where she will be interred alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to be made to a local hospice facility.
