Preceding him in death are his father, David; paternal grandmother Leona Cooper; his maternal grandparents, Denny and Beulah McCoy; nephew, Christopher Strickland; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Gullett.
Randy graduated from Minford High School in 1976. He then joined the Army. He was honorably discharged from the US Army then served 5 years in the Ohio National Guard. Randy retired from the Adjutant General’s Dept., State of Ohio, at Camp Perry after 30 years of service.
Randy had many friends and was loved by all who knew him. There was nothing he would not do for a friend. He was always there to help. Many of his friends have said he taught them about maintenance and electrician practices, and they will always be grateful.
Randy was a self-taught mechanic and loved fishing. He had several dogs through the years, but his favorite, Drake, passed away last year of old age and Randy was heartbroken.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Bennett Cemetery, State Route 139, Minford, Ohio with Dr. Rob McKinney officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363.
