Ladd J. “Butch” Hinton II, of Marblehead, died peacefully Wednesday, December 21, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 22, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH, to the late Laddie J. and Josephine V. (Elliott) Hinton.

Butch was a 1964 graduate of Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was employed by Norfolk Southern Railway as a brakeman until his retirement.

Butch was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to spend his days fishing on Lake Erie.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Paddy” Warren; daughter, Amy (David) Casiere, Cranford, NJ; step sons, Jason Warren and Joshua Warren both of Canada; a grandson, Joseph; sisters, Gale Hinton, Princess “Penny” McKinley, and Tamara (Alex) Kent; brothers, Guy (Sylvia) Hinton and J. Steve Hinton, and he was a beloved Uncle Butch to many nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend, who touched the lives of those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laddie and Josephine; and a brother, Baron Hinton.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
